lead-imagesIsland View Lodge is a spring, summer & fall resort located at the end of Fisher Lake Road on Fisher Lake which is one of three lakes that is a part of the Turtle River Chain of Lakes totaling approximately 900 acres. It is comprised of nine housekeeping cabins-each with its own pier and screened in porch; a lodge with a full liquor bar, short order kitchen, and game room; and a 3 bedroom home occupied by the current owners, John & Judy Lask. The resort was built in 1927 and to date, John & Judy are the sixth owners of the resort.

This chain of lakes is primarily a “fishing” chain. Originally it was old logging grounds. After Shay Dam was built and the lakes created, old logs, rocks and boulders and ground holes remained which created the natural habitat for the panfish, muskie, northern pike, bass and walleye that are harvested each year by anglers.

We proudly boast our most valued feature which is our repeat clientele! To date we currently host families up to 4 generations in a given week. And, some patrons of Island View have been coming here for 50 + years! It is customary and usual that families and the friends made while staying at the resort will rebook the subsequent year for the same time. And, when the opportunity arises, incorporate new families and friends staying at the resort into their circle of friendship. This atmosphere is promoted in part by two long standing tradtions- a Monday evening potluck dinner and Tuesday morning fishing contest which all persons staying at the resort are invited to attend. Both are lots of fun!

As the photos of the cabins depict, there are no TV’s or phones in the cabins. In lieu of these modern conveniences, families will fish, swim, kayak, boat ride, ride bikes, hike, play board games & cards; go sightseeing to beautiful parks within driving distance from the resort; or come to the lodge for a bite to eat and beverage and visit with the owners. It seems like there is always something to do or see; or have the time to just relax. Hence the phrase
“This is IT”
